A blog I intend to follow

This place is getting about as messy as my living room. My dog likes it that way, but some where along the line, I will have to clean off this desk and make it presentable to prospective clients.

So, I won't follow this author, nor follow her blog, as it leads people back to this god awful mess. Won't follow them yet, anyhow. This lady is a client of The Knight Agency, and she writes modern fantasy/fiction. From the snippit I've been treated with, I like her work, and I should buy a copy of something she's published to seriously check it out.

From what I'm reading, she writes modern/fantasy romance. I'm not much into romance, so I should be a tough audience. Not that there's anything wrong with romance, is there? The more I think of it, I'm definately a tough audience. She's offering to give away copies of her up coming publication, I guess I'll tell her the truth, that I'm the ultimate tough audience, and ask her if she'd trust old Jack to give a fair spin on her work. If she give me a copy, even if I have to wade through it, I'll read it all, and definately give it a more than fair spin.

She's a pro, I could learn a lot from her, and her peers. That if nothing else commands my respect.

We want to avoid losing books.

Is it possible to wind up being completely unable to publish your work because of the agent you chose to do business with? From reading the first link, it sure looks like it is. Wow, scary thought. How many books do I have in me? Not enough, for sure.

I read all of it, and all the comments. Ann Rittenberg was written well of. Judson Knight of the Knight Agency was written well of. This is a start. Now my question is, what do these people specialize in? Nice as they are, submiting a work to them that is outside their scope isn't going to help an author, because they won't be interested. I offer links to each of them, but I have not done the homework yet to know what kind of material they represent.

Notice that a bunch of the comments are posted by people who show up as profiles that are a number a mile long, I'll bet most of the people commenting this tale are agents.
